We began as part of a gold rush and we were the Territorial Capital twice! We have a deep history of western culture. We are a small town with some of the best of big town sophistication. We have many retirees that could have chosen to live anywhere, but came here by choice. We are open and friendly but quirky in our own way — for example; our definition of “Black Tie” includes a Tux top with blue jeans and cowboy boots!
